Logistical Info for College Reps​​

This sections contains helpful info for College Representatives and Organization Representatives to help organize their trip to Choices 2019

  • There is no charge for college/organizational representatives to host a table at Choices.  
  • The famous Choices Dinner is free for all college/organizational representatives and is one of the highlights of this fair.
  • WHEN CAN I ARRIVE TO SET UP?  4PM.  If you arrive prior to then, you will run into end of the day school traffic.  Unload in the bus driveway in front of the F building and can enter through F 14 side door.


  • If anyone needs a ramp, please park off of Happ Road.  The ramp will be located by the TBA.  


  • NEW TRIER  HIGH SCHOOL NORTHFIELD CAMPUS ADDRESS:  7 Happ Road, Northfield, IL 60093


  • WHERE CAN I PARK?  After you uñload as directed above, please park in the lot off of Happ Road.


  • EVENING AGENDA FOR COLLEGE/ORGANIZATION REPRESENTATIVES:

                    4:00 PM  REPRESENTATIVES CAN START ARRIVING TO SET UP 

                    AT NEW TRIER HIGH SCHOOL-NORTHFIELD CAMPUS

             

                    5:00 PM  CHOICES DINNER FOR COLLEGE AND ORGANIZATIONAL         

                    REPS.  You are welcome to stay in the dinner area until a few 

                    minutes before the college fair or you can attend the breakout 

                    sessions.  Presenters will have Choices staff to help them get to their 

                    presentation rooms.   Dinner is from 5 - 630 iñ the B Cómmóns Area.  

             

                    6:00 - 6:40 PM FIRST BREAKOUT SESSION.  College Reps do not have      

                                                to attend these but you are welcome to. 


  • Successfully and Sanely Navigating College Admission Tests.  Presented by Matt Steiner from the Compass Education Group:  https://www.compassprep.com/.  Note-this presentation will be offered during both breakout sessions.  LOCATION:  Cornog Auditorium


  • Why Consider Community College:  Rebel Barber, Recruitment and Outreach Specialist at Oakton Community College- This presentation will cover the benefits of a community college and outline the diverse career programs and transfer options available.  LOCATION:  F Building Gym 1


6:50 - 7:30 PM  SECOND BREAKOUT SESSION:  College Reps do not have to attend these sessions but are welcome to sit in on any of them.

  • The College Search & Application Process for Students with Disabilities.  Presented by Diane Spillman, School Counselor, Maine South High School and Terese Sullivan, Transition Coordinator, Adlai Stevenson High School.  This presentation will cover the basic process of researching and applying to college, including what parts of the application process are similar and different for persons seeking accommodations. LOCATION:  Cornog Auditorium


7:00 - 8:30 PM COLLEGE FAIR - DOORS WILL NOT OPEN BEFORE 7.  Please make sure that your tables are set up by 6:30 pm as the fair starts promptly at 7.
